What’s Included?

Lodging.

Hand-picked accommodations coming from years of travel experience and knowledge of the destinations and surroundings. We endeavour to make your lodging experience one that will bring you that home away from home feeling; happy, comfortable and relaxed.

All Sidetrack Cycling departures include lodging for each night of the trip, starting from the day you arrive up to your departure. Unless noted otherwise, all accommodation is based on twin/double-occupancy.
Single travellers will be in a single room, upgrading to a twin/double room (with single occupancy) is available for a small supplement.

Culinary.

All breakfasts and dinners are included on Sidetrack departures. On the Swiss Randonnée the lunches are also included. Alcohol is not included in trip pricing, but a cold beer is always waiting at the end of the day!
You can let us know if you have any dietary needs or restrictions on the Booking Form.

Ride Nutrition.

We will provide professional ride nutrition on all days you spend on the bike. You’re going to need a lot of carbohydrates and fatigue is always nearby. We provide you with a neutral tasting, carbohydrate-rich nutritional product to keep you well fuelled and strong.

Guiding.

From the first pedal strokes to the last, Dirk Spits will be your guide. The routes have been exclusively designed and personally tried and tested, as well as the accommodation and restaurants. Having lived, worked and cycled in the regions you will ride, he has first hand experience with the roads, mountains and local culture.

Support.

Our trips are more self-sufficient than your usual bike holiday, we don't have anyone tracing the route and offering on-road support. During your ride, you’ll always have an experienced guide on the road with you.
With the Swiss Randonnée you have the option to additionally book a Support and Gear-wagon (SAG). This includes the driver/mechanic, extra ride nutrition, additional hydration (there’s also fresh water fountains in abundance in Switzerland) and mechanical assistance. Spare tubes, tubeless essentials, full sized floor pumps and other parts are also made available.
If #shutuplegs! doesn’t do the trick and our pep talk and caffeinated snacks failed, you’re welcome to hitch a ride back to the lodge.
Due to the nature of the (restricted) roads, itinerary and in the spirit of adventure, the Valley of Angels trip has no SAG-wagon.

Transportation.

Travel to and from the destination is not included. The destinations are easily accessible by car, train or plane. It’s recommended you travel by car or train, this is the more efficient, economical and cleaner mode of transport.
Your travels should be smooth and comfortable, please let us know if you have any plans to arrive early and/or extend your trip, we’d love to look at the options for you.
Do you need an airport transfer? Let us know, we are happy to arrange something for you.

Bicycles.

Bicycles are not included on Sidetrack departures. Most guests feel safer and more comfortable on their own bikes and bring it along.
Flying with your bike in a standard bike case/bag is reliable. We will be happy to help adjust your bike when you arrive.

In the event that you do not wish to travel with your bike, we’re happy to arrange and facilitate a bike hire at the destination for the duration of the trip. You'll be the contact person with the rental company and be able to request the bike that’s right for you.
